Holy Trinity Doncaster is an evangelical Anglican church in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It is made up of nine English and Mandarin speaking congregations involving people of diverse ages and from a variety of cultures.

It's a busy place, but we're also blessed with a number of buildings and spaces which can be hired. 

Before you make a booking request please read through the notes below regarding cost and maximum numbers for seating and catering purposes.

 

Maximum Seating Numbers

With respect to seating in the churches:

  •  Our main church can seat 250 people
  •  A further 75 people can fit in the adjoining old church.
  • Adjacent to the main church, we have a creche/crying room that can be set up with plastic chairs to seat up to 75 people. (Using this area for seating typically means it can't also be used for catering).

Maximum Catering Numbers

For catering purposes there are maximum numbers of people that can be accommodated in our various spaces:

  • Our morning tea area (the Pickering Room) can safely accommodate up to 150, with the proviso that only cool drinks are available and only finger food is served. If hot drinks are served in this area, then the maximum is 100. If it is a sit-down type meal the maximum is 50.
  • Our creche/crying room can accommodate up to 75 people, and it is permissible to serve hot drinks in this space, although any food must again be finger food only. If it is a sit-down type meal the maximum is 40.
  • It is possible for a further 50-75 people to use the external courtyard area and to have a cool drink serving station in this space. Please note this will be weather dependent, and you will need to provide any shelters required.

Indicative Costs

All bookings which involve any sort of refreshments require a $250 refundable bond. The premises will need to be cleaned and returned to a similar condition as at the outset. Depending on the type of booking it is also highly likely a verger fee of $100-$150 will apply.

For room hire our casual rates vary between $21-$100 per hour per room.

For weddings our standard fee for 2024 is $1,750, unless the couple being married are regular attenders at HTD. Also, a discount can be requested for couples from an associated church which does not have suitable premises of their own. This fee includes a rehearsal time, some setting up time, a briefing on the sound desk and venue, and up to 4 hours use on the wedding day.

1. Additional costs are likely to apply when using HTD services such as organist or sound desk operator.

2. All rates include GST, where applicable.
