Holy Trinity Doncaster is an evangelical Anglican church in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It is made up of nine English and Mandarin speaking congregations involving people of diverse ages and from a variety of cultures.
It's a busy place, but we're also blessed with a number of buildings and spaces which can be hired under limited circumstances. Before you make a booking request please read through the notes below regarding cost and maximum numbers for seating and catering purposes. Each event is different, so please take the information below as indicative only. Details will only be confirmed when a formal quotation email is sent.
Please note that we have very limited times available for wedding bookings, especially for external couples. We also no longer take wedding enquiries directly from a couple, but require that the officiating minister handles the booking and is responsible for managing it and the day.
We also reserve the right to refuse any wedding booking, or alter numbers for safety or other compliance reasons.
With respect to seating in the churches:
- Our main church can seat 250 people
- A further 75 people can fit in the adjoining old church.
- Adjacent to the main church, we have a creche/crying room that can be set up with plastic chairs to seat 50-75 people. (Using this area for seating typically means it can't also be used for catering).
All bookings by external groups require a designated safety person (other than the minister) who will be briefed on evacuation plans. If over 250 are attending a second person should be nominated, and if over 300 a third.
For safety there are maximum numbers of people that can be accommodated if any food or drink is to be served at the event or following the service. This could reduce the number of people who can attend.
- If hot drinks are to be served the maximum is 100 people (main morning tea area), or 150 people if the creche/cryroom has not been used for seating and is included.
- If only cold drinks are served the maximum is 150 people (main morning tea area), or 225 people if the creche/cryroom has not been used for seating and is included.
- It is possible for a further 50-75 people to use the external garden areas. However, this is weather dependent and will require you to provide shelters, a station for serving any food and drink, and sufficient personnel to supervise the area.
The numbers above include the wedding party and are for finger food only. Please contact the office directly for sit-down type meals. Also note our kitchen facilities are only suitable for heating finger food for up to 150 people.
All bookings require a $250 refundable bond. The premises will need to be cleaned and returned to a similar condition as at the outset. Depending on the type of booking it is also highly likely a verger fee of $110-$330 will apply.
For room hire our casual rates vary between $22-$110 per hour per room.
All wedding booking requests must now be made and managed by the officiating minister. For weddings our standard fee from 2026 is $2,200, unless the couple being married are regular attenders at HTD. Also, a discount can be requested for couples from an associated church which does not have suitable premises of their own. This fee includes a rehearsal time, some setting up time, a briefing on the venue, and up to 4 hours use on the wedding day.
